Reducing Radon

Reducing Radon2019-01-14T18:31:07+00:00

At Delta Waterproofing we know that there are several methods for reducing radon in the home, and while one method may be enough, often employing multiple solutions is best. Depending on the unique characteristics of the home, the concentration of Radon within it, and how it’s getting into a house or building will all contribute to the determining how to best reduce the radon concentration.

Options for radon reduction include methods like the sealing off or entry points such as floor drains, opens sumps, exposed soil, or gaps or cracks in the foundation wall or floor. This is the most basic part of Radon reduction and when the surface area to be sealed is done so properly it creates an effective and long-lasting seal. Using a heat or energy recovery ventilator can also be employed to guide the radon gas up and out of the home. The most common method is to perform an active soil depressurization, where a fan is attached to a pipe that reaches into the foundation and pulls the radon out of the home, usually through the roof.

Delta waterproofing wants to make your house a safe home. Call us today and we’ll help you find the best Radon reduction options for you!
